Book 2 Synopsis

When the first Llandoddies book was published in 2006, people from all over the world bought and read the first book about these unusual characters. Reading fun from 9 to 99 is what the creators called it and the popularity of the story ensured an extra print run in 2008. There have been request for more of the fun filled stories and now finally it is happening; the second instalment of the Chronicles of the Llandoddies is out. The “Terror of the Trolls” is hitting the shelves before Christmas this year. This delightful story of more adventures by our Llandoddie heroes plays in the Rock Park and this time they have to deal with TROLLS !!!

“The trolls are coming! These dirty, disgusting creatures are moving into the Pwll-du mine beneath the Rock Park, and their first aggressive action is to kidnap Rhiannon while the other Doddies are watching Doddie flying ace Odius Peasnort attempt to cross the River Ithon in his flying machine. A crack Doddie rescue team is sent into the mine to rescue Rhiannon, but quickly runs into trouble. The pace is fast and furious, and once again Big Dewi makes a complete Wally of himself as he bungles onwards. The rescue team is outnumbered and completely at the mercy of the huge trolls who will think nothing of eating them for breakfast. Or afternoon tea”

Can they find Rhiannon? Will they be able to escape from the dark, damp depths of the mine where who knows what lurks in the shadows? All the popular characters out of The Grog Invasion are here, including the unpredictably wild Witch Coarsecackle, in a story even more belly-laughing than the first book.

Book 1 Synopsis
This is the first book of the series. The story, set in Mid Wales, takes place just before the First World War, before road building drove the Llandoddies to live on the island on the Llandrindod Lake. Llandoddies are little folk smaller than a mobile phone.

When out on a fishing trip in their coracle, Big Dewi and Little Dewi, with their friend Essie, come upon a Grog war-party and discover the Grogs - evil half reptile, half gnome - intend to attack the Doddie village of Aberdod with the objective of running off with the Doddie cakes and the women who bake them.

The humour ranges from slap-stick to Pythonesque, the pace fast and furious, with a wide range of characters.
Quote from the Grog Invasion:
The raven then swept down beside a tall hedgerow and over a garden wall and then flew beneath a washing-line. As they shot past Dewi’s antennae caught a pair of Mrs Gruffydd-Pugh’s enormous knickers, and wrenching them off the clothes-line, they wrapped themselves round Dewi and his antennae. He could see nothing. They weaved round to the front garden where Mrs Gruffydd Pugh was tending her hollyhocks. She stood up just in time to see her Sunday best knickers fly past at speed.
The Grogs approach
Quote from the Grog Invasion:
"Leila threw Essie off and pulled out her sword to carve Dewi into little pieces as he dodged another blow from the club. Just as Leila was about to plunge it into Dewi, Essie jabbed her in the eye with a rolled-up copy of the Llandoddie Underground Railway map and Summer Timetable"
